Vintage Baule Indigo Textile #408 Burgandy Stunning handwoven strap and tasselsThis vintage textile was used as a "wrapper" in the West African Country of Ivory Coast by the Baule tribe. Made of finely spun hand woven cotton, the cloth was constructed by sewing the strips together into a larger piece. Once assembled the cloth was expertly tied to form a resist against the natural indigo dye.
