Stewart's medicine bears are the most famous and highly sought after fetishes created at Zuni. Stewart is the son of Ellen and Dixie Quandelacy and was born in 1949. He started carving in grade school, as did most of his brothers and sisters (Andres, Avery, Barlow, Sandra, Dickie, Wilmer, Faye, Georgia, and Albenita Yunie).
