Tairu Rug dome Branco AniladoOn the facades of buildings across Japan, from mid century apartment blocks to neighbourhood bathhouses, a particular kind of tile appears with regularity. Long, narrow, small in format and laid out in organised repetition, designer Gabriel Tan encountered such tiles on his frequent travels to Japan, giving him the inspiration for the Tairu Rug, with him translating the tile face and the grout line, into a woven grid in textile. Tairu's warm brown
