For me these are magical times and takes me back to my childhood when heavy snows meant a day off school and building snow forts and all kinds of fun adventures

Could it have looked this way millions of years ago before life existed on this planet

As I came to the outskirts of town I reached the harbor packed with all these fishing boats seeking refuge from the fog and the storm that brought it there

This is a photo of two leaves frozen in ice on a lake before the snow has covered them. You can see where the ice has developed a fissure running diagonally through the leaves and how when enhanced the ice reflects the colors of the sun like a prism. The fact that these leaves will spend a whole winter in suspended animation is akin to time standing still!
